THE NOTE
One thing explained properly, every fortnight.
A short letter about money and the nervous system it lives in. One idea, taken apart carefully, in language that doesn't require a finance degree to parse.
Free. Roughly six minutes to read. Nothing to buy at the end of it.
NO SPAM. UNSUBSCRIBE IN ONE CLICK. WE NEVER SELL OR SHARE YOUR DETAILS.
What actually turns up in your inbox
One idea, not five. Each letter takes a single concept — a document, a threshold, a system, a behaviour — and explains it until it's actually understood. There's no roundup, no link dump, and no "five things you missed this week."
Plain English, with the sources attached. Every figure is traceable to the ATO, Fair Work, APRA or the legislation itself, and linked at the point it's used. If a number changes with the financial year, it says which year it's from
Written for someone tired. Short paragraphs. No jargon that isn't immediately defined. Nothing that requires you to have read the last one.
A fortnight of breathing room. It arrives Every second Sunday morning morning. The first letter goes out in September. Everything published stays up, free, forever — so subscribing now means you'll have the full run rather than joining partway through.
FROM THE ARCHIVE
A taste of what that looks like
"Shown is not paid.
A number on your payslip means your super was calculated. It does not mean it arrived. Your payslip is legally required to show the contributions made — or intended to be made — during the pay period. Intended is doing a lot of work in that sentence.
So here's the check, and it's the highest-value four minutes in this whole letter. Log into your super fund — the fund, not your payslip — and confirm the last contribution actually landed. Since 1 July 2026 it has to be there within 7 business days of payday."

What you're agreeing to
One email a fortnight, plus the occasional note when something new is published — realistically fewer than 30 emails a year. If the Starter Vault opens, subscribers hear about it, once, and you can opt out of product emails without leaving The Note.
You can unsubscribe from any email in one click. We don't sell, rent or share your email address with anyone, and we don't run ads. How we handle your details is set out in full in the Privacy Policy.
